Making a Facebook page is fairly straight forward. Choose the name carefully because you won’t be able to change your mind later.
The URL you will be given will look something like this https://www.facebook.com/pages/ArtBlogAction/205014066184568
The numbers are quite unsightly but you can’t get rid of them until you have 25 likes of your page.
When you reach 25 likes, you can go to the Facebook Username page and set your username. You will then lose the numbers and your URL will look a little bit neater, like this https://www.facebook.com/AlisonQuineArt
So, lets get started creating a page. Go to the Facebook create page
You’ll see the following page:
Click the relevant section for your type of business, for example artists, click the artists section. You will be asked to enter the business name or your artist’s name. (I’ve used the fictitious name Rachel Marsden, just so I could show you an example page)
Once you have entered your details, you will see this page:
Follow the steps from 1 to 5 and your page will now be set up.
Facebook have recently set up a new “Pages Resources” section with helpful tips and information.
You can also access this page from your own page. Just go to “Edit Page” at the top right hand side of your Facebook page.
Then click on the Resources link, on the left (small yellow flag).

It’s a good idea to read through some of the options available to you. It can be a little overwhelming at first but you’ll soon get the hang of it.
